Alec Troniq ist ein Künstler, der sich auf sommerlichen Festivals genauso wohl fühlt wie im strobovernebelten Technokeller oder im Konzertsaal inkl. Symphonieorchester. Nach unzähligen Releases auf Labels wie SNOE, Complexed, Mo’s Ferry und jüngst dem aktuellen Lieblingsprojekt von Laurent Garnier & Scan X (COD3 QR), vielbeachteten internationalen Tourneen und diversen musikalischen Grenzgängen ist es für Alec ein guter Zeitpunkt, mit seiner neuen EP seinen zwanzig-jährigen Werdegang etwas zu reflektieren. “Early Reflexion“ widmet sich z.B. zwei Stücken, die bereits Fundament von Alecs ersten Live-Acts waren, aber bisher nie als durchproduzierte Tracks das Licht der Welt erblickt haben und bereits damals viele Grundpfeiler von Alecs Sound vorwegnahmen. „It’s Not A Feature, It’s A Bug“ kombiniert den verspielten, melodiebetonten Pop Appeal seiner Musik mit einem bedingungslosen Trieb auf die Tanzfläche und zeigt in der gemeinsam mit Komponist und Dirigent Christian Dellacher arrangierten „Synth Happens Version“ für großes Orchester Alec’s Potential für die große Bühne, während „But Then Life Happened“ Peaktime-tauglichen Clubsound in bester Border Community-Manier antizipiert. Broque-Weggefährte Counterfly verpasst dem Stück eine deep und sehr britisch klingende Dubstepartige Interpretation, die äußerst elegant vor sich hin grooved. Mit „The Aviating“, einem bereits 2015 auf Broque veröffentlichtem Stück, das mit Gabriel Vitels emotionalen Vocals und einem sehr gut in den sommerlichen Zeitgeist passenden, poppig schunkelndem Open Air-Sound für viel Aufmerksamkeit gesorgt hatte, ist ebenfalls eine alte Bekannte an Bord, dieses Mal aber in einer DMX-Krew-artig retrofuturistischen Electro-Variante, die rein gar nichts vom Pop Appeal des Originals einbüßt. Eine EP die sowohl persönliche Zeitreise in die Vergangenheit als auch Blick nach vorne ist. Und genau das zeichnet großartige Releases ja oft aus.
