Dirk Lamprecht alias DML ist Münchner und dies auch gerne, was sich auf der „Munique 2 EP“ genauso manifestiert wie dem Vorgänger „Munique“ auf Broque. Dies zeigt sich weniger direkt durch die Musik, die sich mit bodenständig geschichtsbewußtem Dub und Dub Techno weitab von folkloristischer Volkstümelei bewegt, als durch die mit Field Recordings eingefärbten Tracks, die jeweils die spezifischen Stimmungen verschiedener Stadtteile einfangen. Mit Lokalpatriotismus hat DML aber rein gar nichts am Hut, sondern ist eher von einer Neugierde für die verschiedensten Stimmungen in und um die lokalen Kieze der Stadt getrieben. Auf dem aktuellen Nachfolger „Munique 2“ gibt es nun fünf fantastische neue Tracks, die das Konzept wunderbar fortspinnen und sich ein ganz eigenes Nest aus klassischen Dub Techno Standards, aktuellen Einflüssen und lokalen Feldaufnahmen bauen. Die klassischen Chords von „Nymphenburg“ treffen hier auf deepen Dub Techno („Dreimühlen“, „Konk“), marschierende Arpeggios („Westend“) oder eine fast schon ambiente Entrücktheit von „Oberföhring“ und kreieren dabei eine ganz eigene und wohlverdiente Hommage an München, eine Stadt die ansonsten in einschlägigen Kreisen ja weitaus seltener besungen wird als z.B. Berlin Neukölln oder selbst Köln Porz.
