Andrei Nedelcu has been fascinated by music from his earliest childhood days, a fascination he never lost. Although the Romanian native prefers to spell his name backwards (Ucleden) today, his enthusiasm and playful approach to music never disappeared. And that is the one and only viable explanation for his outstanding ability to create such original and fascinating tracks as the seven new ones he delivers now on “Hello Cruel World”, his new EP for Broque. Even though Andrei, who is now based in Weimar (Germany) just started producing music in 2009, his new tracks seem to have inhaled electronic music history, most notably mid-90s IDM, traditional deep house as well as dub techno, while even throwing in a portion Border Community trance (“Silly Symphonie”). But while this might seem a pretty diverse combination of styles, we would like to highlight the most outstanding fact: he not just manages to meander between these different eras and influences, but also to fuse them into entirely new and original creations, which are hypnotic and emotional at the same time. And as such, his tracks blend equally well into foggy peaktime dancefloors as well as the transcendental space meditations of the BR Space Night (R.I.P.).
